Yesterday in Pebble Beach California, Infiniti unwrapped the new JX Concept. Seeing that the JX will bridge the gap between the FX and QX its exterior sort of blurs the two models together. There are certainly some unique curves on this car most notably the sigma shaped D pillar.

This is going to be a seven passenger crossover, which will come in front wheel drive or all wheel drive versions. Since this is still considered a concept car I am not sure of final details yet but I would assume it will be powered by Infiniti’s 3.7 liter engine.

Expect more details to emerge later this year when the production version will be rolled out at the 2011 Los Angeles auto show in November.

Production is expected to begin in Smyrna, Tennessee the beginning of the new year with the JX in our showroom here at Infiniti of Norwood sometime early spring of 2012.

Infiniti recently announced the national launch of its complimentary Infiniti Personal Assistance benefit, which provides new Infiniti owners with unlimited 24-hour access to a live team of professional assistants. Accessible primarily through the owner’s mobile phone, either synched in-vehicle through the Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System voice command or away from the vehicle, callers can ask for answers or assistance on a range of topics and tasks, including:
-Directory Assistance and Driving Directions
-City Guides
-Weather Forecasts
-Dining Suggestions and Reservations
-Movie Times and Reviews
-Travel Arrangements
-Emergency Assistance
-Schedule Reminders
-Stock Market Information
-Sports Scores and Stats, General Trivia Answers
-Consumer Product Reviews and Price Comparisons

“The new Infiniti Personal Assistant benefit is a great addition to the Infiniti Total Ownership Experience, providing true ‘anything, anytime, anywhere’ concierge service with the personal touch of talking to real people, not some computer data site,” said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore. “There’s seemingly no limit what Infiniti Personal Assistant can do for you – adding to the pleasure of driving and owning an Infiniti vehicle.”

Infiniti is the first luxury automobile brand to offer this type of service nationally in the United States. Infiniti purchasers are registered with the service before taking delivery of their new Infiniti M, G, QX, FX or EX, and can begin utilizing the service immediately. Along with owners’ cell phones, assistance is also available via e-mails, text messaging and online portals.

The Infiniti Personal Assistant benefit is offered at no cost for the first four years of Infiniti ownership. In addition, 4-year companion accounts (providing access from an additional phone number) are also available at a minimal cost, as are 4-year Certified Pre-Owned and 1-year Infiniti pre-owned vehicle accounts.

“Whether making dining reservations at your favorite restaurant, making an online purchase, or just catching up with the latest sports scores, there are just so many benefits to using the Infiniti Personal Assistant that you’ll wonder how you got along without it before,” adds Poore.

The rollout of Infiniti Personal Assistant has begun, after a highly successful nine-month test period in four major cities, and will be available in all markets within the next 90 days. Top user topics to date have included directory assistance, dining suggestions and driving directions. Infiniti Personal Assistant is supported by MyStar, Dallas, TX.

Infiniti of Norwood Presents X Isles at The QX56 Release

The evening of July 8, 2010 approached and when 6 PM struck the clock, the party officially was underway. When I arrived at the unveiling, I was greeted with a pleasant surprise when the valet attendant had informed me that he would park my vehicle and provide a complimentary car detailing! From that moment the stage and expectations were set. Upon entering the dealership, I was handed a gift bag, which I later found to include an Infiniti pen, keychain, QX56 booklet, a free oil change coupon, and car detail coupon. Too good to be true? They seemed to be buttering us up for a not so impressive 2011 QX56 I thought. But, when the night progressed I was ecstatic that I made time to attend…

The music was splendid, which featured the X Isles, a 2 piece band with vocals, guitar, and steel drums. Despite only 2 members, the band featured the incredible vibe of even some of the best 4 or 5 piece bands. Not over powering, but very full and soothing. My favorite part about writing this blog is including an aspect of life that I am very candid of: Food! Sky catered this event and truly added a 5 star touch with their signature ingredients. They featured crab cakes, quesadillas, scallops and shrimp, jerk chicken embodied by cornbread with a little swirl of BBQ sauce to top it off, cheese and meat platters, bruschetta, tortellini dishes, and more. All of the food was delectable and mouth watering! I was a little weary as to how the catering would go, as we all know catering with hot food is a hit or miss. Sky had 3 chefs in attendance freshly preparing all of the dishes on the dealership floor. The food was a showcase in itsself and truly did Sky’s typical reputation justice!

Now, aside from my rambling. The vehicle was finally unveiled. By 7:00 PM we all were exploring the new QX56. The car is very spacious, which was demonstrated by a family of 7, who had much room once packed in. The vehicle is slightly smaller inside than last years’ model, but has no bearing on still being able to fit your family comfortably. The car is filled with features, such as twin DVD screens on the driver/passenger headrest, luxurious design in the dashboard, steering wheel, lavish compartment space in the front middle center, leather, navigation touch screen, and more. Infiniti equipped this machine with a standard 5.6-liter, V8, 400-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. For a car of its class, the QX56 stands above competition in having impressive fuel ratings. Motor Trend asks, “Is there a better SUV in this category? Perhaps not.” The Infiniti QX56 is all new for 2011, and other fellow reviewers say it’s finally competitive. The changes to the Infiniti QX56 for 2011 start on the outside. I was happy to see that the angular, blingy styling of the old model is gone, while a more subdued look takes its place. Inside, there’s standard seating for seven (though seating for eight is a no-cost option) in a cabin that again I would compare to that of a luxury private jet. Since it’s an Infiniti, the QX56 comes loaded with high-tech standard features, as well as some innovative available safety features, like Intelligent Cruise Control.

The night was a success and Infiniti of Norwood gave their customers another reason of why they won the 2010 Infiniti Award of Excellence. Classy event all around for the top of the line luxury SUV.

That being said, check this car out today and for more details please visit: www.infinitinorwood.com

Kevin Lepine is the Business Development Manager at Infiniti of Norwood. Kevin recently attended the New York International Auto Show, where the revamped 2011 Infiniti QX was unveiled. I spent some time with Kevin to learn more about the new QX and got his take on it.

Q: What were your first impressions of the 2011 QX?

A: At first I saw photos online and thought it looked a bit small and very different looking.

Q: Was it different from what you had heard or expected?

A: Absolutely… When the truck was unveiled I was really surprised at how Large and spacious it was and how incredibly sexy it looked!

Q: What are the major differences from the 2010 model?

A: Everything is different! The head of Marketing for Infiniti was there to unveil the vehicle. He had mentioned that when this came to the drawing board they decided to start from scratch and build from the ground up. As we were told, It is ALL-NEW.

Q: What was the crowd’s reaction to the 2011 QX?

A: There were about 75 people there for the QX unveiling… Everyone seemed to be very excited.

Q: Did you get a chance to sit in it? How did it feel?

A: I did get to sit in it. The QX is so spacious and very refined. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a superior QX in comparison to the old one. I can’t see many other brands even coming close to the quality and appeal of this truck!

Q: When will it be available to the public?

A: We were told that next week (2ndweek of April) Infiniti will start production in Japan. This means that dealers should see them in 3-4 months from now (Mid Summer 2010).

Q: What were some of the other highlights of the show?

A:Well, the show was set up very good all around. I really liked seeing the Infiniti essence Concept car that was on display and also getting to look at all the models and brands together.

Q: What were you most impressed by during your time there?

A: Duh… The 2011 QX56 of course! That and the entire set up from Infiniti. GREAT JOB THEY DID!
